Description: Here's a nice vintage standard-sized matchbook cover from the Hotel Pawnee, located in North Platte, Nebraska. It claimed to be "Western Nebraska's Finest" and was also home to the Tom Tom Coffee Shop and the White Horse Bar.
There's no printing on the inside.
Produced by The Diamond Match Co., Chicago, Ill.
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but appears to be from the 1950s or 1960s.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The cover is only lightly soiled but most of the reddish background on the front appears to be just slightly faded (compared to the back). The striker strip area has some damage from the rough removal of the staple that held the matches. There's also an additional pinhole which passes through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
