Description: Here's a nice vintage over-sized matchbook cover from the Town House Motor Hotel and the Mount Vernon Inn, both located in Albany, New York. They claimed to be "ALBANY'S LEADING MOTELS", both Air-Conditioned and with a TV in Every Room. The phone numbers given are just 6 digits, "62-5562" and "77-3352".
The inside has a simplified map of the Albany area showing the motels approximate locations.
Produced by The Diamond Match Co., Springfield, Mass.
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 2" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but those old 6-digit phone numbers probably place it in the 1950s or thereabouts.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The cover is only lightly soiled but the striker strip area has some damage from the removal of the staple that held the matches. There's also an additional set of staple holes that pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
