Here's a very nice unused glossy postcard featuring a model of the St. Lawrence Seaway and Power Project near Cornwall, Ontario, Canada.

The card was distributed by the Bryan News Agency and was produced from a photo courtesy of Ontario Hydro. It's identified as a "ShiniColor" by "Colourpicture" of Boston, Mass., and bears a code number of "SK9302".

The description on the back reads:

"This model shows the huge 2,200,000-horsepower St. Lawrence Power Project, and a section of the International Seaway in the Power Project area, as they will appear when completed. In the centre is the powerhouse being built jointly by Ontario Hydro and the Power Authority of the State of New York. Bisecting the international boundary line, it will span the St. Lawrence River between the Canadian mainland, just west of Cornwall, Ontario, and the eastern end of Barnhart Island. Extending out from either side of the powerhouse are the dykes which will contain the headpond or water storage area. The Long Sault dam (upper centre) will combine with the power plant itself to obtain and control this headpond in the amount required to operate the generators. To the left is a model section of the Seaway showing proposed locks."

Size: approx. 3½" x 5½"

Date: Not dated but I'm fairly certain the card is from the 1950s.

Condition: Fine, I'd say. The card is unused, but the corners have very faint diagonal impressions due to storage in a traditional postcard album. There's also a small amount of foxing on the back. (Please see scans).

MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
