SERIES: Satire
This is one of 100 cards featuring humorous cartoons and advertising the "Ariosa" brand of coffee that Arbuckles' issued in the late 1880s. All the illustrations were originally published in either Puck, Judge, or Texas Siftings, three of the more popular satirical periodicals of the day. Most typically aimed their derision at blacks, Jews, the Irish, or country "rubes" (i.e., anyone living outside New York City). This particular card was based on an 1887 Puck cartoon drawn by Frederick B. Opper and features a tramp who's found himself a really good gig.
The back features Arbuckles' familiar "Four Points" sales pitch.

CONDITION: Very fine, I'd say. This card is only very lightly soiled with just slightly worn corners. (Please see scans.)
