Description: Victorian Greeting Card - RAPHAEL TUCK & SONS
Here's a very nice card in the "Thinking of You" genre, featuring a farm woman with walking with a cow and her calf. It has a verse at the bottom which reads:
" As thy twelvemonths take their ways
May their joys outrun their days."
The back carries a much longer verse by H. M. Burnside, along with a simple sketch of a farmhouse, a tree, and a couple of birds. It also carries the Raphael Tuck & Sons logo for the "ARTISTIC SERIES". (The series number, printed faintly in metallic ink on the front, appears to me to be "351".)
Size: approx. 5.5" x 4.375"
Date: Not dated
Lithographer: Raphael Tuck & Sons
Condition: Very good, I'd say. The front of this card is only lightly soiled, with a shiny smudge (perhaps a spot of glue) near the top center. The back carries a long, snaking, transparent glue stain and a handwritten greeting from "Bob Daniels" to "Uncle Tom".. (Please see scans.)
